Would you drop Corey Patterson for him?

How did the Injuries and Player Updates section turn into the advice column? This is looking a lot like the Hunter Pence thread in this section.

I don't mind it, but I'm looking for updates when I search this section, not advice for other people's teams.

I can only summize that this post was started due to the recent back to back game benching of the forementioned player. The other post discussed that very thing and why in the hell Manuel is doing all this crazy stuff all of a sudden.

Anyway, glad to see him back in the lineup. I was one of those furious owners who saw the second benching of S. Vict. and cut bait on him... I was wrong to that... He cleared waivers and I picked him back up again ;-D

This post should probably end up in 'Baseball Leftovers.'

Here are my thoughts from the Leftovers thread:

For those who are somehow still on the fence:

Shane Victorino was supposed be the pet project of new Phillies first base coach Davey Lopes, who was a fantastic basestealer during his MLB career. Victorino stole 45 bags twice in the minors, but hadn't been successful in the bigs until now.

That fact, coupled with his slot in the two-hole for Philly, made him a great sleeper in drafts this year (I have him on both of my 12-teamers, drafted in the 14th and 18th rounds).

His recent flurry of hits has kicked up what was a low batting average, but he's been walking all season long. His OBP is around .400, and the struggles of the Phillies are the key reason he doesn't have a ton of runs. Those will come, as will a handful of home runs (with some help from that park, he could hit 10 or so, not bad for a stolen base specialist).

He is now 13-for-15 in stolen base attempts. Steals do, for whatever reason, tend to come in flurries, but he's now on pace for about 55 steals.

As of right now, he should be taken and started in virtually every league. OK?
