Victorino on Fire

Maybe Charlie Manuel isnt as ditzy as the talk around here (mine included) has accused. He was right about getting Myers into the closer role. Now it looks like Victorinos 2 night exile from the starting line up has a lit a fire under his butt.

The last 2 games he`s 5-5 with 3 SB and 5 Runs Produced. I have him as an injury replacement. I think I`m gonna find some room for him in the permanent line-up.

He just made my permanent lineup. The steals and runs simply cannot be ignored.

My problem is that I either have to dump Figgins or Dave Roberts to keep him. I think he`s gonna be healthier and produce more than Roberts.
I think I`m gonna go with youth---Figgins and Victorino.

I like Vic over both but Roberts is probably your weakest.

Is he worth dropping Pods for? It's a head to head league and I just picked up Pods to use for steals later in the year. Will victorino keep up the SB numbers?

Thats a tough one. I`m in a similiar situation where I`m dropping a proven Veteran (Dave Roberts) for Victorinos younger legs and strength of line-up. Victorino is batting between Rollins and Utley, so he could produce lots of runs.
Roberts is 35 and always on the DL.Pods is 31 and his injury is to his legs---so that could affect his SBs. Victorino is 26 and burning in desire to stay in the big leagues.
On the other hand , Charlie Manuel is threatening to limit Shane's ABs to about 550. Still--he`d be on pace for around 50 SBs.
Im taking the risk with Victorino. I always like giving a young, hungry player a chance. It worked out for me last year with Russel Martin.
But......Ive also got Pierre :-b

Wish I had him in my league. Victorino has good power, one couldn't tell from his zero homers...and apparently great speed... just wait till he starts hitting the homers...could get 20 this year.
