Every year we hear it. A star player gets off to a slow start and many panic. All players will go through slumps during the year. Some will start slow, it happens every year. Then the posts start. Should I drop (Young, Tex, Berkman, Abreu, insert name of your choice)? Or should I trade him for the hot rookie hitting .350 or the next Babe Ruth coming up from the minors?
Gentlemen, it is a long season and aside from injury the star players will come through for your team. Abreu and Tex are notorious slow starters, happens every year. All you have to do is check the splits for their career out. This year the entire Texas team was slumping to start the year. Now they are starting to heat up. Young will be at .310+ by years end and score 100 runs and knock in 80-100. Bank it.
Seems like some managers are lazy and rely solely on this site for their info.
Good luck
