i see different stats like BABIP thrown around for pitchers and other similar type stats for hitters, but where can i find these stats for this season?
if i go to yahoo i can only find the basic everyday normal stats like ERA, WHIP, BAA.
what are some other deeper stats i should look for in a pitcher? such as the number of ground balls compared to fly balls

The best site is probably http://www.thehardballtimes.com.

Its free which is nice, it has most of the stats you would want which is great. It also has links to fangraphs and baseball-reference player data in each players sheet and those are both great sites as well.
