Do I Keep Bonds?

Postby Crabtree78 » Thu Jan 15, 2004 6:54 pm

Need some advice. I have a 25 team NL only keeper league. 13 teams in league and salary cap is $285. We go into the draft keeping seven players at last year's salaries. Right now I have Pujols $40, Bonds $41, Jason Schmidt $21, Scott Posednik $1, Polanco $3, Alex Gonzalez (Cubs) $3, and Jerome Williams at $5. Would you keep Bonds bringing your overall salary to $114, or dump him back into the draft and have a $74 payroll. A lot of the best guys will be protected, but Berkman, Abreu, Green should be available. I would love another quality arm, especially a closer, but right now those don't seem readily available. I don't see dumping Bonds to pay $37 for Green, etc., but I could see it to do Pettitte, and another quality player. Your thoughts?

I would probably dump him back if you believe you can get a couple of good players for the amount you would be paying to keep Bonds.

Dump Bonds. You'll need the money at the auction. But don't blow more than $15 on Pettitte, playing for the Astros! It should really hurt him to play in that college park.

I'd let him go at that price.
