What are the chances that he sticks with the big club for good. I picked him up today and I would hate to see him sent back down later when Ortiz returns.

I am interested to see what happens. I drafted him in the 24th rd (out of 25) after the guy before me took homer bailey (control issues!). No one took notice....looks like the patience might be rewarded. I am optimistic he'll be good immediately as long as he doesn't let the hype get to him. From what I understand the Pac Coast League is a hitter's league with fairly pitcher unfriendly parks. Taking this into account, his stuff, and NL West lineups it's hard to believe he won't dominate.

I got him earlier this week, but why did yahoo do him differently than cole hamels, for example? Last year, Hamels had to clear waivers to pick him up, yet Lincecum was able to be picked up as a NA at any time.

i think you can pickup anyone without a waiver claim if theyre not yet on a MLB roster. however, the second theyre called up, then theyre put on waivers.

Lincecum already cleared the waivers like 3 weeks ago on Yahoo. They added him to the waivers in early April.
