Giants expected to bring up Lincecum

(05-03) 15:44 PDT SAN FRANCISCO -- Tim Lincecum's time apparently has come, and the entire nation could have a chance to see his coming-out party.
The Giants on Thursday placed starter Russ Ortiz on the 15-day disabled list with neuritis in his pitching elbow. They recalled infielder Kevin Frandsen from Triple-A Fresno and have not announced who will start in Ortiz's place in the rotation Sunday night when the Giants face the Phillies in ESPN's nationally televised game.
However, there are strong indications that Lincecum, the Giants' 2006 first-round draft pick and one of baseball's top pitching prospects, will be promoted to start the game. If so, another player would have to be removed from the Giants' roster.
Lincecum, 22, is 4-0 with a 0.29 ERA in four starts at Fresno. He has allowed one run on 12 hits in 31 innings. He has walked 11 and struck out 46. He was scheduled to pitch against Las Vegas on Friday night.
Ortiz is 1-2 with a 6.44 ERA and just had his worst start of the season. He allowed eight runs in 31/3 innings in a 9-7 loss to Colorado on Tuesday night.
dunno, hopefully they'll make another roster change soon enough
