Chris Carpenter will test his elbow with another bullpen session on either Friday or Saturday.
With pain-free bullpen sessions on Friday and Sunday, Carpenter would be on pace to start Wednesday's game against the Rockies.

May 3 ESPNews reports St. Louis Cardinals SP Chris Carpenter (shoulder) could be activated from the disabled list Monday, May 7.


May 3 Carpenter (elbow) will throw another bullpen session on either Friday or Saturday as he continues his rehab, the St.Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

Recommendation: Depending on how the session goes, Carpenter could return as early as Wednesday. Manager Tony La Russa said that Carpenter would not need to make any minor league rehab starts.
