Doumit seems to be my best option in my leagues. If he doesnt pan out im pretty sure those marginal players will still be there. I dont see how the pirates can not get Doumit some playing time?

I picked him up too...he should be good for 70 RBI hitting .300...

he was solid last year too

Varitek, LoDuca, or Estrada. who would you use to replace? Never heard of this Doumit guy.

In regular leagues, I'd go with Estrada.

My league, walks are a stat, so I have to take Varitek. Another plus is knowing most of Varitek's rest days.

Just grabbed Estrada. He hits for average, which I like from my catcher spot.. although I'll hate the random off-days.. I'll miss you Piazza.

Can someone explain why Piazza, being out 4-6 WEEKS, is not being placed on the DL by Oakland?

Are you serious?

Crap - I was wondering why he hadn't showed up as DL on Yahoo yet.

I haven't heard much of anything on it. Is it possible that the 4 to 6 weeks tidbit from ESPN is a bit of an exaggeration. Maybe they are finding that it is not as serious as they had first thought...

Well, this Piazza owner can dream. lol.

By the way, I was watching the game, and went right upstairs to pick up Doumit, and someone had just picked him up! The person isn't a Red Sox fan, so I'm not sure if they just happened to have been watching the game, and did it to be obnoxious, or if it was just a coincidence.
