Yeah, I believe they changed this in their fantasy leagues last year (either for football or 06 baseball season).

I don't like the idea of moves limits. If you're using Yahoo, this guy turning around pitchers the same day is effecting no one (of course he may think it is), so why put rules in place to stop something that doesn't exist (i.e. you're trying to stop a guy from putting players on waivers when he actually isn't).

If you wanted to know why he was doing this, you'd probably have to ask him. I can echo what has been said here: it it our intent that if you add a player and then drop him on the same day, he goes to FA, not Waivers. If you see this is not the case, please let me know. As long as this is working properly, I'm not entirely sure what this guy would be trying to accomplish.
I suffer from the same impatient-gotta-make-a-move-now-no-that-one-is-better-no-lets-try-that-one disease. I'm guessing he probably is just a dork like me who doesn't think as long and as hard as he should before making a move.
Yahoo did good a job of preventing 'churning' when they changed the system to not put the player on waivers for the other owners if he's dropped the same day.
E.g., if you pick up a player, then drop him the same day, he's still a FA to everyone else in your league except you. Even though it doesn't show him as being on waivers (W), you can't pick him up again until after the standard waiver period.
As many have said, a player picked up and dropped on the same day in Yahoo remains a FA and doesn't go through waivers. So the only way you can do this type of thing against fair-play is, for example, by grabbing a pitcher you know is starting the next day but don't intend to use and then, so that no one else can use him, drop him at 2 A.M. when everybody's sleeping and pick up somebody else. As commissioner, though, if I caught someone acting like that, he would be seriously reminded that locking him is only a mouse click away.
It can happen, though, that a player is picked up and dropped on the same day. Sometimes guys are quick on the button and, upon reflection, honestly change their mind a few hours later. In my mind, this is perfectly OK.
Also, if you don't have a max moves set in your league, then there's really no huge advantage unless you have a roster spot that you are using to 'stream' players which can be a good tactic for pitchers, especially if there's an IP stat.
I.e., grab a FA starter tonight who will start tomorrow. Hold your breath that he doesn't cause your ERA/WHIP to tank, and then hope he helps your Ws, Ks, and IPs. Rinse and repeat (nightly).
I don't see anything wrong with this and has done this before. I add/dropped about 5-6 guys in 10 min so a guy that I regret dropping would sink below the league homepage and I hoped to get him back, it was effective, ask davidmarver.
