What does it mean when one owner adds someone off the WW, then the same day drops that player for another? Are they just not thinking about their moves?
Yep. You can't pick them up now until they clear waivers. I'm pretty sure Yahoo has something in the rules outlawing this, even though it is still possible to do.
You could probably turn his ass in if it gets out of hand.
It could be blocking which is usually a very effective strategy that can be used in H2H leagues to block another team from getting a player who is hot or to have them blow their waiver on them.
I've done that before. On Yahoo, if you add a guy and drop him the same day, he's still a FA and doesn't have to pass waivers.

I believe Yahoo handles this by - if you add and drop a player on the same day, they don't go to waivers.
Or if you have same day transactions - if you add and drop a player before the start of games, they don't go to waivers.

This is called "roster churning" and is technically illegal according to Yahoo's fair play policy. A player is only to be added if it is done with the intent to be used on the acquiring team. It is not to be done to make that player unavailable to other teams. I think, however, that if a player is added and dropped in the same day that he does NOT go to waivers. This was how it was in football last year.
That being said, I'm guilty of what the original poster describes. I've made a move and thought, doggoneit, I'd rather have this guy, and then I dropped the guy who I had just picked up.
If I'm right about the players added and dropped in the same day returning to FA, it shouldn't matter anyway.
i have 38 moves but i was spot pitching and did alot of add drops pre season to try and get closers but this looks like he is trying to prevent spot pitching. nothing you can do, just make sure next season you have a max move limit
