BJ Ryan/Phil Hughes...worth keeping?

he's eating up my DL spot right now, which I'd like to give to Hughes...I could stand pat and keep Hughes just on my bench, but would like to clear a spot to pickup some steals (Lofton is available and hot w/ the swipes right now)...I'm chock full of pitchers in general and I also could cut someoen like Millwood, as I hate him, but feel like he should be worth more, or Igawa if his game vs. Boston wasnt a new leaf turned over, and I dont want 2 NY P's in the long run anyway, so...
...should I keep both Ryan and Hughes or drop 1 for Lofton or somebody else?

I'm in the same situation sort of:

I have 3 DL spots. I have Carpenter, Ryan, and Iwamura on the DL however Wickman and Hughes just went down.

I'm not sure if I should just stash Wick and Hughes, or drop Iwamura/Ryan to open up DL spots.

If he comes back healthy and throws like he did last night, you better believe he'll be starting. He was dominating last night

He is going to be out Half the season. There is no point really carrying Hughes on your roster.


Also BJ Ryan is on the 60 day DL so he will be out at least 2 months. If you need the roster space these are the two guys to drop.

There is no way Igawa belongs on a roster in a 9 team league.

Yeah, but they might want to be careful with him and let him finish the year in AAA. Obviously it depends on the state of the Yankees rotation in 2 months. Even so Hughes isn't guaranteed to come back. If it's not a keeper league I'd drop him if I needed a DL spot for proven players who will play for sure when they return.

Keep Hughes. Brian Cashman said today (fanball.com is the source I got this from) Hughes is up for good and will help the Yankees this year.
