i guess they aint calling him up cuz they want him to gain some stamina. so as long as he stays dl eligble and as soon as tavarez screws up and gets shelled the calling up lester talks will begin and hell be back in the mix.
The Boston Herald reports that Jon Lester is unlikely "to be called up anytime soon" from Triple-A.
Lester makes his final minor league rehab start at Pawtucket Wednesday night, but according to the newspaper the Red Sox have decided to keep him in the rotation at Triple-A until he builds up more stamina. "Our No. 1 responsibility is for Lester and his long-term health," manager Terry Francona said. "You can read into that what you want."
Update: NESN reported that it was minor cramping in Lester's forearm, and he was removed as a precaution.

He left today's AAA game with cramping in his forearm, definitely NOT because he's going to be called up soon. I think Lester won't be up until June at the earliest, unless Tavarez really starts crapping the bed.
My thinking is that with all the young pitchers going down (Harden, Felix and now the recently brought up Hughes), teams like the Red Sox and Giants (Lincecum) are going to be extra cautious.
I still think Lincecum will be coming up soon, possibly mid-May, but given that Lester's coming back from cancer, he's not going to be rushed.
We may see Hansack for a few starts before we see Lester. The Red Sox rotation is crusing so there is no need to rush him at this point.

Lester, who was scheduled to throw between 90-100 pitches against the Indianapolis Indians, apparently suffered from discomfort in the forearm area and was not able to snap off his pitches.
