I stopped myself from posting a thread about him yesterday. Instead, after careful consideration, I unceremoniously dropped edit: some dude for him ( 14 team points league, steals mean squat). Today, he extended his hitting streak to 7 games, going a whopping 15-30 with 4 HRs, 11 runs scored and 7 RBI over that span- 2/5 tonight with a HR, while he was fortuitously in my lineup.
Is this going to last? No. This is, after all, Alex Gonzalez, the one with a .248 career average and 93 HRs spread out over 3688 ABs, but it shouldn't stop anybody from riding him now, while he's red hot.

reminds me of his 2003 first half. That year he had
13r/6hr/22rbi/.352ba in april
7r/3hr/12rbi/.310ba in May
13r/3hr/17rbi/.268ba in June
after the ASB he had:
18r/6hr/24rbi/.208ba total.[/code]

i grabbed him last week and hes doing great for me. im hoping now that hes hit a few HR's i can trade him off for a higher value rather than wait until he cools off.
He's a streaky hitter, and I thought at the beginning of the year that he might have a chance to duplicate 2003, hitting in the Great American Bandbox. Not enough to draft him, but when Thome went on the DL, I did pick up A-Gon to replace him in my 15-team league, and hopefully he'll stay hot until Thome comes back.
(taps little picture of a microphone)... is this thing on?

To be completely honest...yes.
Ha, I don't blame you if you're in a smallish league, but I'm in a 14 teamer, and there's just no excuse for him not to be rostered. He's way too hot right now.
No disrespect, but I think I would have found a way to keep Victorino.
Hitting where he does is huge, especially since Utley and Howard haven't even fully got it going yet. I know the steals aren't as big, but you still get a couple points per right?
Right now Victorino is up there in "points" with the likes of Holliday, C Lee, Crawford......
I know he probably doesn't finish up there with them, but he will definately out point Gonzalez this year, don't you think?
I guess it depends on what your roster looks like, but I think I'd find a way to have the Flyin Hawaiin on my team.
I bought him for a buck at my NL only roto auction because of his ball park and lineup. I saw possibilities for some power cat #'s. So far, so good. Will he hit like this all year....well, no, he's not gonna hit .300 and finish with 7 dongs for every 9 of Dunn's. But for a $1 MI in an NL only.....pretty happy.
