Relax, wait til mid-june or so, and then start playing him.
In his career, he hits 248 before ASB, 290!! after. He is better than Adam Dunn because he has more productive players around him and draws a decent amount of walks. Another player of similar ilk is Frank Thomas, who's available in like 50% of leagues.
