He got pushed back. Might as well not rush him.

Felix Hernandez (elbow) won't return Friday against the Yankees after all.

This times out well for me. With Hughes on the DL, I can pull Felix off. We only use 2 DL spots and this way I can hold Hughes, Felix and Liriano. It's a keeper so I hide Liriano on my DL in case his rehab goes well and I want him for 08.

Appears we have a setback

May 2 Hernandez (elbow) won't come off the disabled list until May 9, the team's official site reports.

Recommendation: Hernandez was slated to come of the disabled list May 4, but he felt "a little discomfort" in his elbow a couple days ago. He mixed in some changeups and curveballs in Tuesday's bullpen session, and the Mariners plan to have him throw a simulated game before he returns. Cha Seung Baek will start Friday for the Mariners in Hernandez's place.

As a Felix owner, I'm not really diggin' that he said he had "a little discomfort" after his bullpen session. Does anyone else even slightly suspect that it might be even worse and he's trying to hide it? I have him as a keeper and wondering if this is going to continue to haunt him or worse, that he has a Liriano-like return to the mound.

I know we can't predict the future, but I'm getting that uneasy feeling.

I'm no fortune teller, but as a Felix owner I actually prefer if they delay him a few days. I'm sure he's under strict orders to report ANYTHING. My gut feeling tells me that Felix is going to be fine...

The M's allow him to start throwing his nasty slider and 2 starts later he goes on the DL... He throws his breaking pitches while rehading his injury and he feels something in his elbow... :-? I see a pattern. :-P
