well it looks like Chase wanted an open-ended final scene. Personally, I'm not a big fan of the ending.

I'm really undecided on the ending.

At first I was kind of pissed, and then pieced together some things that would explain it.

I was too, but after a few minutes thinking about it I think it was a good end.

I think that they were showing that Tony survived this episode but that he'll always have to be watching the doorway, scanning the room, etc. He got through thanks to his last-ditch reach to the FBI and by setting up the meeting with Phil's guys, but his time will come sooner or later.

Not a flattering picture in the end.

i agree, i was a little pissed at first but then i thought about how suspenseful those few minutes were...especially whether or not Meadow could parallel park that may be the second best Meadow moment ever behind her bra and panties dance that opened season 5

I didn't feel like a series finale to me. But that last scene was awesome. There was really nothing Chase could have done to meet the expectations put on this episode. I thought it was handled well. I did expect to see Big Pussy.

That's what I heard, but apparently the actress who played Melfi said only 1 ending was shot.

There are conflicting reports on this.

Gandolfini said there were different endings. Chase said there was 1 ending. The actors who played agent harris and the shady looking guy said there were different endings. And the actress who played Melfi said there was 1 ending.

Weird!
