Why call him up in the first place? That is what I don't get. I think he only started 2 games, what a waste...

Cuz he sat on the bench when clearly he should have been working on his craft. You don't need to be a GM to see that.

Not to mention that they started the clock on Wood already. It was just a dumb move by Stoneman which I guess I shouldn't be surprised by.

i think part of the reason for calling him up was that his absense at AAA allowed figgins to play 3b there on his rehab assignment over the weekend and get ready to be activated today. figgins could have rehabbed at AA i guess, or wood could have dh'ed or sat i suppose, but why not just call him up and give him a taste? his clock likely would have been started later on this year anyway so i dont think its going to be that big a deal.
