He was lights out again today against the Yankees. Got the hold, 4k's over 2 innings, 1 hit, no runs. What do you guys think? Fluke or is this just the beginning?
He's certainly not going to take over the closer's job from Papelbon, so what exactly do you mean?
He looks like he'll be a pretty good setup man for the Sox this year, I'd guess he ends w/ an ERA around 3.00, WHIP of 1.10 and perhaps 85 K in 75 IP (a season very similar to Akinori Otsuka's debut w/ the Padres a few years back).
exactly what i meant...He seems to have become a stabilizer already in a weak bullpen. Yeah the veteran arm of Timlin is there, and the young guns of Piniero and Romero. But it seems like Okajima and Donnelly are sure bets.

I don't know if you can call a bullpen "weak" when it currently has the best ERA in the AL. Sure, a big part of that is Papelbon/Okajima, but it's not like everyone else is just out there tossing underhand.

I'm just asking guys...Once Lester is back to what he was after the rehab assignment in AAA, someone's gotta go down. And my guess, it's gonna either be someone from the bullpen or pedroia.
Pedroia is not going down. Heck, even with Alex Cora doing his best, Pedroia is still the starting 2B for the Sox.
Either Kyle Snyder will be optioned to Pawtucket, which I believe is most likely, or Romero will be designated for assignment.

Snyder is out of options, and the Red Sox don't want to lose him. Maybe he goes on the DL when Lester is ready.
