Update on Thome 4/28/07

The White Sox are leaning toward placing Jim Thome on the DL after he aggravated a rib-cage strain in Friday's game.

Alex Cintron is starting at DH tonight. It's more obvious than ever that the White Sox made a mistake by not keeping Eduardo Perez and sending down Brian Anderson to start the season. They should be on the lookout for a quad-A hitter to fill in for Thome over the next couple of weeks. Cintron is a very weak option as a DH.



Why the hell can't they just put him on the DL so I can pick someone else up

Freaken.. Argh, this is the year of disabled players for me this season. After Thome didnt play the last two games, I was just like, "not another one" and I guess I do have another one down. Any word on how long he'll be out?

Most likely 15 day DL, but who knows at this point, i just wouldn't count on him for 3 weeks.

Jim Thome is headed to the disabled list because of a rib cage injury, reports the Associated Press. Thome missed two games with the rib ailment and returned on Friday night, only to re-aggravate the injury.

Our View
Manager Ozzie Guillen has been worried about Thome's injury since it happened early last week. Fantasy owners will obviously have to find a different player to fill their utility spot for at least the next two weeks.
