let Adam Eaton take the mound every 5th day... Phillies fans must be cringing when you have your ace in the bullpen while you sit here and watch this guy stand out there running a 6 ERA for the last couple years...

any thoughts?

The Phillies are a train wreck. That's my thought.

Plus I'd like to see my pitcher get back out there on the mound. :-[

The ace isn't in the bullpen. The ace is Cole Hamels. It was a desperation move but the bullpen is terrible with Flash, Matt Smith, Madson and just about everyone else throwing leads away. You need someone back there capable of getting the job done. Eaton isn't good as a starter, what makes you think he'd be better in the pen. Don't get me wrong I'm not fully happy with Myers in the pen either but something had to be done. Hopefully Lieber keeps pitching well and a trade gets done for some bullpen help and Myers reclaims his spot in the rotation. Maybe even Rowand can go for some help in the pen with the way he's mashing right now. There have recently been rumors that the Linebrink talks have came back up again. So who knows.

The Philadelphia Inquirer wrote:The rumors that San Diego righthander Scott Linebrink might be available have kicked up again, but a trade possibility with the Phillies seems remote at best. Padres general manager Kevin Towers said recently that he would like to sign Linebrink to a contract extension.

Hal·la·day, n. 1. every fifth day in Philadelphia. 2. a day of rest for the bullpen. 3. innings eater. 4. doc. 5. ace.

Adam Eaton is a fifth starter. He stinks, but he is a 5th starter. To be honest, I cringed when they signed him. I would have much rather given the money to Randy Wolf...but what do I know, right?

Then again, what do they know?
