Help me improve my team! WHIR!

Postby schillingfan » Sat Apr 28, 2007 6:56 pm

I'm pretty happy with my team overall (except how some of them are performing but I know they will turn it around) but there are so many good free agents out there that I feel I can improve my team more. Thanks! This is in a 12 team Roto CBS league by the way.

C- Gerald Laird- Obviously, need to upgrade at catcher
C- Miguel Olivo- Obviously, need to upgrade at catcher
1B- Justin Morneau
1B- Prince Fielder
2B- Josh Barfield- Hopefully he begins to turn it around soon
3B- B.J. Upton- picked up to fill in for Glaus but he's performing so well I'm afraid to drop him. I'm considering trading Glaus and holding onto Upton because I could get someone really good with Glaus.
3B- Ryan Zimmerman- Same as Barfield
SS- Hanley Ramirez
OF- Ryan Freel- Considering trading him to someone who needs SBs because he's not playing everyday and I have a decent amount of speed.
OF- Raul Ibanez
OF- Manny Ramirez- Same as Barfield and Zimmerman
OF- Corey Patterson
OF- Josh Hamilton- Picked him up off FA when he began to get hot. Not sure if I want to let him go because he could have a great season.

SP- Johan Santana
SP- John Lackey
SP- Ben Sheets
SP- Dave Bush
SP- Rich Hill
SP- Roy Halladay
RP- Ryan Dempster
RP- Jason Frasor
RP- Chris Ray

Reserved- B.J. Ryan
Reserved- Troy Glaus

The FA list includes:

Roger Clemens
David Weathers
John Maine
Ian Snell
Carlos Ruiz
Sammy Sosa
Orlando Hudson
J.J. Hardy
Edgar Renteria
Adrian Beltre
Kelly Johnson
Tom Gorzelanny
Chuck James

One team in my league is willing to move Penny for a 3B or OF. Should I try Glaus for him or is that too high of a price?

If I were you I'd want to find a way to get Snell and/or Maine on my roster. I realize your pitching staff is pretty full, but those two guys are looking very good out of the gates. I'd try to do a 2 for 1 involving one of your pitchers (maybe Sheets + Glaus) for a super stud position player at a position of weakness. If you could land an Utley or David Wright with those two, then you can pick up Snell/Maine with the empty spot. Just a thought.

Here's mine, please take a look: http://www.fantasybaseballcafe.com/foru ... p?t=278519

Thanks for the help. I replied to your thread.

The only reason I'm hesitant to change around my pitching is that our lineups are set for the week so all of my starters start all the time every week so pitching is quite important in my opinion.
