Young has alot more potential with his power and speed combo.

Yeah uh, Pence's HR/SB ratio is 8/3 in 04 in 199 AB's, 25/8 in 05 in 300 AB's and 28/17 in 530 AB's last year. He has speed and power. Young is the one scout's love to love because he can field as well as hit. Pence is not as great of a fielder, and scout's continue to say he will fail, yet he keeps producing. /shrug

you do realize pence does not have 30/30 potential where as Young does right?

Young has far more potential and he is younger also.

Young has the most potential. I like Pence better this year though. I think Pence is the safer bet, but I would go Young based on 30/30 potential. Pence could go 30/20 though (with a better avg.)

if you want production sooner, I'd go with Pence. I'd go with Pence period just because he's safer.

this remind me of the time when I was trying to sell James Shields for Angel Guzman, I said Shields is younger, and 2 sec later he pointed out that he was 6 days younger. :-D

But seriously, I have a bad habit of loading up my team with low upside prospects like Kevin Kouzmanoff rather than the BJ Uptons of the world.

really nothing wrong with Pence either i'd love to have the guy on my team and i do view him as a "safer" prospect. he's a little unorthodox both running and hitting to me but it works for him.

however Young's upside is just more superior... that cant be disputed at all. so it just comes down to what do you want.... safer pick or more upside?

there was a post similar to this one about Butler Vs. Maybin, maybin grades out higher on upside where as butler is viewed "safer"

its up to the person to decide what they really want. cant go wrong with any of them imo.
