I was going to bring this up the other day. I thought that when Giles was traded to San Diego that it was a foregone conclusion that Kendall was going as well. I think it was, and now they are finally working out the details.
Kendall to the Pads. Help him? Hurt him? Stay the same? Does anyone know the dimesnsions of the new park?

he'll have more run support around him so I do think that he could have more runs/rbis. Any team (except the tigers) has to be an upgrade from the Pirates.

The Pirates and Padres could be close to completing a Jason Kendall trade. The Pirates would receive Ramon Hernandez and Jeff Cirillo. The scary thing is that Cirillo could be handed a starting job by the Pirates. If that forces Chris Stynes to second base, Freddy Sanchez, who would be one of the team's better hitters, might be sent back to the minors.

That totally depends on where he's hitting in the lineup. The only reason he hit leadoff with the Pirates was because they had no one else. I don't think that will be the case in San Diego.

Burroughs is penciled in as leadoff. I'd say Kendall bats number two and could easily be leadoff by say ... April 10th. Burroughs is a good player but he is too young and not quite the prototypical leadoff hitter.
Unless of course Kevin steals a Centerfielder that could bat leadoff.
