From rotoworld:
Matt Garza allowed two runs on five hits, with one walk and six strikeouts during a six inning start for Triple-A Rochester on Friday.
Twins General Manager Terry Ryan watched Garza's outing. He is 0-1 with a 2.84 ERA in four starts for Rochester so far this season.
Ponson has imploded as expected and the fans boo'ed him vehemently last time out. Is it time yet? Whats your projected ETA for Garza?

What is the value of Garza if he is called up? I don't know a whole lot about him.

Supposedly his ceiling is as a No. 2 starter in the majors. His best pitch is his live fastball, which can run up to 95 mph. But his secondary stuff isn't as refined.

The knock on him is that he doesn't have a true outpitch and that will prevent him from being an ace. He does have good enough secondary offerings and has very good command so I still like him for the long run. Just don't confuse him with Lincecum, Hughes, Bailey and Gallardo.

For an ETA, I would guess mid-May. Ponson will get a few more starts (who knows why) but the Twins want to see what they can get out of him. He's definitely on schedule for sometime soon.
Kudos to GiantsFan14 for the sig.

I think Slowey will be called up before Garza.

yup
http://www.fantasybaseballcafe.com/foru ... ght=sloweyhttp://www.fantasybaseballcafe.com/foru ... ght=sloweyhttp://www.fantasybaseballcafe.com/foru ... ght=sloweyKevin Slowey yielded one run in seven innings and struck out eight to win Monday for Triple-A Rochester.
Slowey has overtaken Matt Garza for the moment and should be the choice to replace Sidney Ponson whenever the Twins get around to upgrading. He has a 1.08 ERA and a 28/2 K/BB ratio in 25 2/3 innings for Rochester.

I third that motion. Slowey has been ridiculous so far. He's been compared to Brad Radke (which should go over well in Minny) with strikeouts. Garza still needs to work on his control a bit (10BB in 19IP).
