Now that Clemens has made it official. What are peoples projections for him in 2004? He is moving to the National League which should help him but not pitching in a hitters ballpark. I expect the following:
He's not pitching for the 100 win Yanks anymore. While this might be the feelgood story of the winter for Texans, the reality is that he's running on vapors.
And Red Sox Nation, before you get worked up to say HA HA, relax. We can let him go after giving us some great moments, most notably drilling Piazza and then going on to pitch 27 shut-out innings against the Mets and of course his performance in THE series (you know which one I'm talking about). Pedro eat your heart out.
Running on vapors? I highly disagree. There's lots of gas left in his tank. At least enough for a couple more years, so this year he should still be throwing heat. I can't see him having an ERA north of 4.
I say 15-10, 3.80 ERA, 190 K's, 1.15 WHIP. Maybe a bit optimistic, but the 'Stros have a good offense, and this move might rejuvenate him.
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"
"I've got your phone number written, in the back of my Bible."
As a Cubs fan, this deal concerns me. Before this move, I thought the Cubs were just a better team then the Astros. Now, the Astros have a "big four" of Oswalt, Miller, Pettite and Clemens. I think that the Cubs and Astros are pretty equal now and I would even give the edge to the Astros because their offense is superior to the Cubs.

Ahh, I feel like it's 1996 once again. I can now go back to hating Clemens. I hope he likes those high and tight fastballs in the NL which he's always maintained are just a part of the game.
