Well, you shouldn't feel like an idiot. It's just a dorky toy to temporarily make it look like your hitters are all having career days. Click a button and your hitters start dominating (until you refresh the browser anyway).

Those were Ramon's actual stats last night (it doesn't change stats for guys on the DL.) I had him camped in my DL slot, even though he was off the DL in real life. He's gone now... traded him and Hudson for Shef.
