He had a meltdown when he nearly blew the CHI game the night before. Read this link for some perspective. Apparently it got so bad that Pudge was apologizing to the ump on Zumaya's behalf.

It was actually worse than what the papers reported. After his outburst the ump predictably shrunk his strike zone to the size of a peanut.
Seems like that debacle was still on his mind. If you carryover from the previous night he let 9 consecutive batters reach base: 9!
I live in DET and listened to the game ... the announcers noted he he is still "young and fairly highstrung." They (and one os a former Tiger catcher) noted that his mechanics and velocity were fine. So we'll see how the next outing goes.

He hasn't been able to locate his fastball from what I've seen. He's either walking or leaving pitches in the middle of the plate and get hit.
It's also been pretty cold so that might have something to do with his control issues.
