Have Glaus on DL right now. Normally, I have to drop someone to activate him or I can keep Glaus in my DL spot as long as I don't add a player.
Scenario: Yahoo removes Glaus off the DL but I leave Glaus in my DL spot. Can I still make a trade with an activated Glaus (no red DL label) in my DL? Or do I have to drop an extra player?

Let's say I accepted a trade today with Glaus in my DL spot (still has red DL label). If trade is not vetoed, the trade will go through on Mon or Tues. During that time, TOR and Yahoo activates Glaus (no red DL).
I'm guessing that I wasn't prompted to drop someone when I accepted the trade. Therefore, shouldn't trade still go through with Glaus in DL spot whether he has red DL label or not?
Does it matter whether it's a 1 for 1 or that I give 2 players and get back 1 player?
If you accept it, or it is accepted while Glaus is still on the DL, you shouldn't have a problem - even if he's taken off the DL before the trade is completely processed.
Since you can't pick up anyone while he's on your DL though, I'd go ahead and drop someone since you're going to have to soon anyways. That way you know you're not going to run into any problems.
Are you sure? I've never had this exact scenario play out but Yahoo will not allow you to add a player when you have a non-DL player in a DL spot. So I was under the impression that the trade would fail.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

I you accepted a deal while Glaus was on the DL, that means that Yahoo recognizes that you have a clear roster spot to receive another active player even though you have someone on your DL. If you trade Glaus while he is on your DL to someone, Yahoo will force you to drop someone. In the meantime, if you move him off your DL to the bench, the trade will still go through and you will have an extra roster spot to use to pick someone up with.

Thanks chadlincoln. Want to make sure I get it right. So if i do accept an even trade (2 for 2) while Glaus on DL, I won't have to drop someone if I want to keep Glaus on DL. I want to make a trade to make room for Glaus w/o having to drop someone. e.g. the 2 for 2 trade will involve a player that I will drop to activate Glaus.

I have had this exact scenario (unless I'm recollecting incorrectly), and the trade was not processed because it would put me over the roster size limit. I was never prompted to drop a player during the trade process, so I assume my DL player was actually on the DL when the trade was proposed...then again...perhaps he was on the DL at the time it was proposed, but had been removed at the time it was accepted...that might have made a difference. It was two years ago, so it's a little hazy in my memory. I DO remember being pissed and confused though! Luckily, I re-proposed the trade and everything went through fine.
