Surely the Giants fans in the Cafe are outraged at such a horribly blunt and unattractive name for their park? I hate the Giants and I'm upset about this.

Surely this is the sign of the Giants' downfall....

anybody notice how the "Baby Bells" (no huge pun intended) :-D

aka as the phone company monopoly is slowly "growing" back together.

There was a thread about it in the Talk forum. We even gave Eftda a hard time about the new name. It was a couple of months ago though.

Personally, I like the sound of "Pac Bell" a whole lot better than "SBC".

This ballpark desperately needs a nickname, something that will stick for generations, long after a bank has swallowed the airline that bought the television network that devoured the phone company that underwent six name changes, creating a perpetual identity crisis for the little stadium by the bay.

Couldn't have said it better myself..... :-)
