Make a move? WHIR Always!

Postby rozzz5 » Thu Apr 26, 2007 12:10 pm

Right now I'm towards the bottom of the league due to a bunch of really slow starts. Any tips on some people i should try to move or categories to go after? Thanks.

Get rid of Tavares to start off. See if you can pick up a different catcher as well. See if John Buck is still available in your league. Orlando Hudson and Mike Cuddyer are off to hot starts so you should be getting plenty of stats from them. Bonderman is off to a slow start but he should feed off of plenty of run support once Detroits lineup comes around, and it will. Check out Wilfredo Ledezma, should be a FA cause he's under the radar but he stats are solid so far:
3 W/12.1 IP/1 HR/7 Ks/2.19 ERA/1.14 WHIP
Also since Lidge is out as closer, and Wheeler is in, see if Qualls is still available.
To me your pitching looks fine. Don't panic! It's only the 4th week. Your pitching will come around.

There's gotta be a better SS floating around too.

I'd be a bit careful on Ledezma, he's a solid pitcher, but with all the Tiger's bullpen woes (Rodney falling apart, ZUmaya a head case as always, and, as we in the D like to call him, roller coaster Todd Jones doing his normal up and down thing) he is starting to be used in unfavorable situations as opposed to the long relief role where he dominates.

As for your lineup, I'd look to package Sexton in a trade for a better 1B and move Cuddayer into the outfield over Tavaras. Maybe move Sexton with Hughes for an upgrade if he starts off hot.

Also, I actually like Barrett pretty well at C. It'd be nice for you if you could find a way to move Tejada into SS and get a solid util replacement off WW.

If you can,
