if you look, he started out the same way last year before catching fire so i'd say slow starter or warm weather pitcher. say what you want about big Z but the man is a firey competitor and he loves baseball, somebody i would want on my team any day of the week. i think he'd look good in a White Sox uniform:)
He's always been streaky from month to month. If your in roto leagues try to buy low because his numbers will at least be close to the norm when all is said and done. If you're in h2h leagues his value falls.
Not a fan...he walks too much, and he has had a pretty large workload the past few years. He also has a bad temper, so when he gets into trouble, it often gets to him. He will obviously improve, but I wouldn't expect him putting up 4th round value this year.
He'll about the same as he's been in the past, he'll put up over 200 Ks, and grab a few undeserved wins when the Cubs offense starts firing on all cylinders. And he'll pitch a 3 or 4 gems over the course of a season.
You gotta remember he's only 25, but already has 5 full seasons under his belt. One of these years, he's going to put as much brain into his pitching as emotion, and well, watch out.
I also have not seen him pitch but just looking at the stats suggests he'll turn it around. He had a 5.35 era in April last year and has a career 4.55 era in april. I agree that hes a little more valuable in roto leagues because he'll most likely finish with the norm. However, I think hes a great buy low in any format because you should be able to grab him low and then trade for much high when he inevitably dominates the next couple of months...
