Any one know what the magic number for players to qualify at different positions is?

Is it games played or games started?

15 Games started at a position..... :-)

England's Worcester Canoe Club set the world record for paddling a hand-propelled bathtub. The 25 man team covered a distance of 55 miles, 425 yards in 24 hours on September 28 and 29, 1979.

I don't think it's game started but instead games played. I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

Here is offical wording from Yahoo

How is position eligibility established?
At the beginning of the Fantasy Baseball season, Yahoo! Sports placed all players into positions based on information from official rosters. Some players appear in multiple position lists and are eligible to fill any of those positions.
If a position player makes 15 appearances at a new position during the season, he will become eligible to play that position in Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Baseball.

Pitchers need to make three starts to become eligible as a starter, and five relief appearances to qualify as a reliever.

Please note that players may not be eligible for all of the positions that are displayed on their Yahoo! Sports player profile.

My site from last year is still up so I copied it from that.

Erboes is right, it's 15 apperances at a position, not starts.

good reference. I didn't know that all they had to do was make an appearance. so if chipper is in the OF and derosa gets hurt so they move him over for the last 2 innings in a game then that would count as 1 game for chipper at 3B?

if so then that's pretty cool.

Is Chipper really the backup third baseman? No one on the bench? Interesting....
