Salomon Torres isn't being pulled from the closer's role, but manager Jim Tracy said he is open to using Matt Capps in the Pirates' next save chance.
"We'll do what's necessary to win the game," Tracy said. "But to suggest I'm taking something away from him, I'm not doing that, not right now. He'll stand up to this, he'll get it straightened out." Even if Torres does turn it around, the Pirates could still be better off with him setting up Capps. It wouldn't come as a big surprise if that's how it works out.
