Berkman? What gives?

I made a trade for him after the first week thinking I was getting a steal, but now I don't know. I understand it is a long, long season but that does little to console me as I watch him every night.

I don't even understand what this means? Berkman has been as consistent as anyone over the last 5 or 6 years. Yes, in '03 he "only" hit 25 homers, but he still slugged .515 and drove in 93 runs (in 40 fewer ABs than the prior year).

He's been a pretty consistent hitter over his career. I wouldn't worry too much.

Yeah I agree with other people. I have him on my team and I wouldn't really worry yet. He is overall very consistent and his numbers will begin to come around. No need to panic in April.

I had him last year and have him on one team this year. Actually, I've managed to end up with him on one team or another for the last 4 years or so. He always seems to have really cold spells every once in a while. He'll go on a tear at some point. It just so happens that this cold spell is at the beginning of the year.

He'll be fine. I hope you weren't expecting a repeat of is numbers last year. That just isn't likely to happen. I think he will end up with 30 some HR's and 100 some RBI's. He's gonna get hot, don't worry about it.

I also have him, and was getting concerned but I think he will get on track. I don't get to watch Houston games, but he seems to get walked a lot.

It seems like Houston's offense in general is in the doldrums. The only guy doing anything decent is Carlos Lee. I expected more from this line-up... maybe they'll come around soon, or call up Hunter Pence to see if he can provide some kind of spark.

I think Berkman's getting ready to heat up. He hit three ropes to RF yesterday (2 singles and a Sac Fly).
