richy, you can carve your own style, but what you are doing right now does not look good. No two styles are alike, but there have to be some similar things.

I think all he was trying to say is that you could fix the background effect that took out the shoulder by making another copy of the render before you put the effect in...That way if the render gets messed up you can re apply it and try again...AND if it turns out the way you want the first time you can just delete the extra copy and not show it...It just gives a little leeway....If you make a copy of the render..or any layer for that matter you can click the little eyeball in the layer properties box and "shut it off" and it won't be seen until you turn it back on...I have messed up more renders than I want to admit and learned to do this myself....Who cares if you have 100 layers before you are done as long as the sig turns out how you want it to....
You should make the sigs exactly the way YOU want them....It don't matter what everyone else thinks about your work. If you are happy with it that is all that matters!
