Fernando Cabrera.

I picked him up a couple days ago. He's owned in 6% of Sportsline leagues.

Turnbow is owned in 18%
Howry is owned in 10%
Heilman is owned in 9%
Coffey is owned in 8%
Pineiro is owned in 8%

etc.

* He has been a K machine his entire career (70+ ks in 60 innings last year and a K/9 of nearly 11 since 2004)
* His big problem last year was walks, but that was anomolous of his prior career (nearly 5 K/9 last year but about 3.4 prior to that)
* Borowski sucks. We all know that. Even the Indians know that. They didn't want him to be their closer. The only reason he is their closer is because Foulke retired.
* Borowski is a free agent after this year. Not only is Cabrera a must have in keeper leagues, but Borowski will probably be gone (at the latest) by August
* After tonight, Cabrera is at 15ks and 3 walks in 10 2/3 innings
* He will outpitch Zumaya this year.

Interesting article about his slider...and Cole Hamels. I know that at one point in his career he started...but does anybody else find it interesting how the Indians keep sending him out for two innings at a time?

Tigers did that with Zumaya last year as well. Shields has also been doing that for a while.

Where's GoToWarMissAgnes...?

I'd love to hear his thoughts on Cabrera. I'm considering picking him up in a HLDS league.

No holds yet, but the numbers are certainly there. I'm definitely going to consider him...thanks for the tip. ;-D

I gotta think this guy could get a shot at closing this year. Borowski is horrible.

Horrible.

Well I guess with Betancourt the 8th innning guy, he hasn't had many opportunities for holds?

Is that a fair assumption?
