ahh, if that's the case, then we're both wrong. "police" is a noun in plural form, thus it is used to refer to a collective group, not a single member of the group. i suppose "police officer" would then be correct; however that usage, in reference to, "the grammar police" does sound a bit ridiculous. then again, since Brett Myers just got converted from starter to set-up to mop-up to closer, i guess ridiculous is the name of the game.

Not to un-derail this thread, but Myers picked up a save in his first opportunity last night. A perfect 9th.

I now have 6 closers on my 10-team keeper. I started with 3, drafted Wheeler as a late-round flyer, picked up Reyes the first week, and now Myers. Hopefully I can build up a nice saves cushion and then start trading closers to have-nots.
