ahh, if that's the case, then we're both wrong. "police" is a noun in plural form, thus it is used to refer to a collective group, not a single member of the group. i suppose "police officer" would then be correct; however that usage, in reference to, "the grammar police" does sound a bit ridiculous. then again, since Brett Myers just got converted from starter to set-up to mop-up to closer, i guess ridiculous is the name of the game. :-B
