The Cardinals agreed to minor league contracts with 1B Luis Ortiz and OFs Emil Brown, Mark Quinn, Chris Prieto and Ray Lankford on Jan. 9.

lankford and quinn are interesting low risk signings. quinn has shown decent power in the past and might make a decent bench player. lankford, if his knee is healthy, could be decent. he k's a lot but he usually has a decent obp. since they are minor league deals i like them but i hope walt isnt counting on one of them to emerge as a starter.

Not bad moves by the Cards....Lankford and Quinn could be interesting... ;-D

btw...Quinn has more homeruns in a season than any other player with a last name that begins with Q.... :-?
