Over/Under on Rickie Weeks

So I guess everyone missed the memo stating Weeks can hit 40HR. When both Weeks and Fielder came up last year, Weeks was the one that scouts thought to have the more power.


Im going to say 40HR-20SB next year. The best 2B Keeper in the game.

Sounds good to me as I have him in a keeper. He was indeed considered the better prospect of the two...Did they say he had more power than Fielder too?

No way Rickie Weeks hits over 20 HR. He is a speed guy. If his BA stays over .270 then he will steal 30+ bags and possibly 40. If his BA dips under .250 then he will be too low in the order to steal 30.

Both of Weeks two seasons in the MLB disagree with you that he's not a power guy. The two seasons hes played he hasen't had more then 360 at bats, and he was able to pull of 13 and 8 home runs in those two years. If Weeks is able to get 500 at bats he's going to be a lock for atleast 15 home runs. I don't see why he can't hit 20, he's always been known as a guy who can steal and hit for pop. I see Weeks as being one of the more likely guys to hit the 20-30 mark.

Thanks for the discussion gentlemen. As you can probably guess, I am pretty high on Weeks this year - here's hoping that wrist holds up, and the improved plate discipline isn't a mirage.

are you sure it was a scout?
i remember a manager on his AAA team saying he looked like he could hit 40 at some point in his career.

i definitely think rickie has 20+ power,
his bat speed is insane.

i think one thing you guys are overlooking that is worth mentioning is the amout of runs he scores.

73 in 95 games last year,
19 in 21 games this year.

seems like he could place in the top 10 in runs every year
