First Ever Roto Team

Postby Lewdog » Wed Apr 25, 2007 2:17 am

I've been lurking around the Cafe since March, and I've been really impressed by the feedback and the members. Anyways, this is the first year I've tried fantasy baseball, so if I can get some feedback on my team it would be greatly appreciated. As always, I will try to help answer your posts as I can (even if I am new at this).

Anyways, Yahoo Public, 12 Team 5x5 Roto

C - J. Posada
1B - J. Giambi
2B - C. Utley
3B - R. Zimmerman
SS - J. Rollins
OF - M. Ramirez
OF - A. Rios
OF - E. Byrnes
Util - B. Upton
BN - M. Cameron
BN - L. Overbay
BN - T. Wiggintonw

SP - D. Haren
SP - B. Sheets
RP - J. Nathan
RP - A. Reyes
P - J. Frasor
P - J. Soria
P - E. Bedard
BN - I. Snell
BN - C. James
DL - BJ Ryan

Any area where I am particularly weak? I'm doing fairly well in the pitching categories at the moment (although I am projected +30 IP so I'm starting to be more careful), but my average, SB's, and runs scored are all towards the bottom of the league. I'm towards the top in RBI's and HR's at the moment.

Thanks for any help.

In a 12 team roto league, I think you have a contending team.

Your starting pitching is solid (especially if sheets holds up), but I think you good use another starting pitcher on your team. I wouldnt make a trade just yet, but I would certainly search for some sleepers on the waiver wire. Nathan along with your army of mediocore closers makes you competetive in the saves category.

I love the fact that you have stud SS/2B combined with a solid outfield. Giambi has been hitting well and I think Zimmerman will pick it up. I really like the balance of power/speed in your line-up. good luck!
