Wow, used a Mac primarily up until about 5 or 6 years ago - mainly because my old man was a graphic designer. I moved out and bought a PC for gaming. I will always have a soft spot for Macs. If they were more widely supported (anywhere close to PCs), then I'd seriously think of buying one. Also, if my job revolved around graphic design, or multimedia (like yours Sim), then I'd get a Mac without question. I like the operating system better.
For games and surfing the net.....I'll settle for the PC.
I'm beginning to think my Mac is indestructable. I had a Dell laptop that crapped out majorly within 2 years but I have had this iBook for about 4 years now and I have even spilt a half bottle of Yuengling on it and it is still amazing.

That's probably because it didn't like the taste of Yuengling
If you're a battery, you're either working or you're dead....
I may have been a little rough on it, but I always liked my PC laptop. I just didn't realize until I made the switch how much crap I was putting up with, and how much better things are on a Mac.

10.4, I believe its Tiger. I understand Leopard is on the way... I love that. Microsoft gives you "Vista"... Mac gives you Tiger, Leopard, Panther... Macintosh is truly King of the jungle.
Glad to see half the posters in this thread are also Mac users. We are truly the enlightened ones, fellas.
By the way Dan, thanks for emailing acs and "tattling" on me.
i like them both. But I have to say the recent run of mac ads where the cool guy is the mac, total dork is the PC get on my nerves, because they are fairly untrue. And as they gain in popularity their security claims lead me to wonder...

My friend has an iMac. It's pretty neat and I like to use it for a little while but it's more like a fun little toy to me. For everyday purposes or surfing for a while I'd take a PC everyday.

Aren't those names awful? I mean, would you have any idea which actually came first and last if you didn't have it explained to you explicitly? They should have gone with size progressions: kitten, cat, puma, tiger, lion, saber-tooth. That makes more sense...
I think.
We're still on 10.3.9, and my wife hates it. There's always some widget or some program she wants that needs 10.4, but I know that 10.5 is coming out soon, so I refuse to shell out the bucks. We'll upgrade at that time.
