Josh Johnson continues to throw regularly off flat ground, the Marlins official site reports. He's dealing with biceps nerve irritation and expected to be out at least until early June. "
I didnt find any info on what causes the irritation, so probably they have no idea, which probably means they projected an average healing time.
Worst case, Id say he'll be back after the all-star break for sure.
To give you the best advice I need to know your league and roster size, but I can say right now that if your league is shallow you can just drop him, but in deep leagues probably you must hold onto both of them.
Anyway, I'd drop Josh Johnson. That whole at 3b is big, and it must be addressed, while your pitching doesnt need Johnson that much.
I assume theres a limit (1250 inning), so in that case your staff will reach that easily, its just that you wont be able to do that much shuffling.
But good pitchers are on their way to the bigs and there are certain pitchers who are pitching better in the second half.
Cliff Lee
Andy Pettitte
Kevin Millwood
Noah Lowry
they are not the flashy names but overall numbers are hiding their real value.
And thats what you looking for in Roto.
There are others, who usually better in the second half like
Sabathia
Cain
but they are off to a great start so they are expensive right now.
And try to trade Schilling early August. And probably Arroyo too.
I would drop Willingham Or Ibanez and pickup Lowell. Use your DL spot to hold Johnson....you have held onto him this long...you are possibly only a month away from him coming back....Or I would cut Iwamura....I mean he was doing good but not spectacular and I really dont see him drawing much if any attention on the waiver wire especially since 3rd base is arguably the deepest position in fantasy baseball.
I disagree, no way you drop Ibanez for Lowell. Maybe Willingham? Also, Iwamura was batting .339 and although his power numbers aren't there yet, he was on pace for 120+ runs, 100+ walks, and 25 Stolen bases. I would hold him and watch for any setbacks in his recovery. I know that if someone dropped him in my league, I would pick him up. I would feel fine with Freel as a stop gap and I would keep Johnson in my mind, even if you are solid at Pitcher, you could always trade him or another one for a bigger need.
I'd cut Iwamura, and grab Lowell. Lowell is likely to have a huge season with the Sox. You can likely get Iwamura back in a month If ya really want him then anyway...

Iwamura is hitting .339, how are you going to get him back? It's like dropping Carpenter thinking you'll get him back when he's close to healthy.
I'd just drop Josh Johnson, this type of nerve problem is hard to diagnose and fix, they don't know what's exactly wrong with him and is just letting it fix itself. Best case scenario is he'll be back in a month and so and pitch to the tune of a high 3 low 4 ERA. Worse case scenario and what I think will happen is that it's going to be a recurring problem in his career. I'm not sure about the specific of his problem but nerve problems can be tricky and in the worse case has ended careers(Dan Blackburn, man, was he promising.)
Are you interested in joining a 28 teams dynasty league? If so, PM me.

Either this of Lo Duca you already have a catcher...no need to carry two. Anyway in two leagues of 10 teams Iwamura was cut and still remains on the WW...so I some of the irrational exhuberance over him previously stated may be an overstatement.
We are 3 weeks or so into the season, we certainly cannot project how a relatively unknown commodity is going to do. So making a comparison to dropping Iwamura to an established stud like carpenter is a bit off.
If you are truly concerned about dropping him, I would go with Lo Duca and pick up lowell...he will give you decent numbers.
