Back to Swisher's injury, there are conflicting reports out right now. He definitely turned an ankle or hyperextended his right knee, but a couple of reports have him straining a right hamstring to a lower leg injury. We'll keep an ear to the ground and wait for official word from the club.

The official word on Swisher's injury is a strained right hamstring. Interesting. As his ankle certainly looked like it took a turn. That's bad news for Swish, as hamstring injuries can linger and be mighty tricky.

Knowing the A's, most likely he will be day to day for 4 or 5 days and then be DLed, if at all. With so many conflicting reports we won't know for sure. The A's aren't usually very forthcoming with injury news.

Just out of curiousity (and fear), could he have torn his hamstring?

Was watching the game and it only looked like a sprained ankle. Not sure how long that will keep him out though. I think the broadcasters said it was his hamstring, but from everything I saw I don't see how that is really possible. It really looks like just a sprained ankle though. Guess we will have to wait and see how long he is out.
