Tomko sure got off to a bad start, proving that he is a head case, but his second half has been worth his salary alone. He has certainly been a major component of the fuel that the Giants have been running on down the stretch.

I picked him up at the All-Star break in my NL-only league. He has been fantasy gold.

3.71 era and a 1.28 whip since the break. Not sure I'd call him gold, but not too bad either. ;-)

Actually, after tonight's nice outing, both those numbers will come down some, so he has been better than I thought the second half. ;-)

He's turning into the decent #2 guy that the Giants have been looking for since Ortiz left.
Bluto: Over? Did you say over? NOTHING is over until WE decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? HELL, NO!
Otter: Germans?
Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.

Hopefully he doesn't get resigned only to put up ugly numbers in the first half again then come on strong during the stretch. Even though it is nice to have someone at their best in September, it is odd when his skills are night and day in the begining and end of the season.
