Tomko in SF

Heres the book of Tomko, Giants fans...

1. Do not pitch him on the Road.

2. Only pitch him during winning streaks, or when the offense is clicking.

3. DO NOT pitching him when you need a win, or otherwise need innings out of your starter. Start a swingman that game.

4. Do not boo him. He needs lots of love and encouragement.

5. If it's late in the game, and you're ahead... TAKE HIM OUT OF THE GAME

If you follow this guide, it should translate into 10-2, 2.80 ERA, 90 innings.

(Upon assessment, that'd be a hell of a reliever! )

Just because he is in a Pitchers Park, doesn't mean he will be that good. BAD move by Sabean.

I disagree. The Giants signed Tomko to an affordable deal and being in a pitchers park will help his numbers. I am pleased with this signing.

What about Foppert?

Fop Dawg is out for a while. He had to have TJ.

I don't think it was a good move for the Giants. We'll see but I'm not drafting him.

Before Tomko the Giants rotation looked like it was going to consist of: Injury-bothered Schmidt, No Stamina Rueter, Young and Ripening Williams, Journeyman Hermanson and Hardly Experienced Correia.
This rotation would have consisted of a group of five guys who averaged only about 119 innings each last season!

Now that Tomko has been added onto the staff, the Giants actually have one big innings eater! Who cares if he will give up a fair share of bombs. He is a huge improvement over what the Giants had before him. He will certainly give the bull pen more rest and take pressure off of the other starters. I would not be surprised if his numbers are superior to the average NL number four starter as well.

And, sure it would have been nice to see what Correia could have done if he was handed the 5th spot in the rotation, but the Giants have been successful playing with veteran filled lineups.

Can anyone provide me with a substanated arguement on why they are dissapointed with the Tomko signing? And, if you feel that Tomko "sucks", can you please provide reasoning for your accusation?
