Mark Prior signs 1-year deal with the DL

Rotoworld wrote:Mark Prior will undergo exploratory surgery on his shoulder Tuesday and is likely to miss the rest of the season.
Dr. James Andrews will perform the surgery. "He's had some discomfort for a couple years," GM Jim Hendry said. "It's finally gotten to a point where it's probably the right decision to let one of the best people in the world go and have a look around to see if anything can maybe be fixed, if it doesn't need something major. Dr. Andrews has the clearance if something needs to be fixed or tightened up." Even if no major problems are discovered, it's unlikely that Prior will get into a game this season.

That's a shame - he had some much promise when he came up.

The Twins are so lucky that Prior had huge contract demands as a draft pick.

That really sucks. It's a shame to see all that talent go to waste because he can't stay healthy.

My friend convinced me to take him as a lottery pick but I dumped him the minute they sent him down to the minors. This guy is done.

I remember you posting this a few weeks ago...

At least I know that I'm not the only one that suffered from the Prior affliction....

On a somewhat funny sidenote....I've had a man crush on Prior for years now. As I said, I drafted him way too high in all of my leagues...in my main keeper league I took a chance on him in the 16th round, and just dropped him last night for Shields before this news came down.

Gotta commend my foresight, right? :-b
