Harden will not start Tuesday

Postby Tenacious D-Store » Sun Apr 22, 2007 10:51 pm

Rich Harden, SP OAK
News: The San Francisco Chronicle is reporting Rich Harden will not make his start on Tuesday at Baltimore. However, he will not go on the 15-day disabled list and reportedly felt great after a side session on Sunday. However, manager Bob Geren wants to get him back in the rotation at the end of the week. He does not want to push it, especially early in the season.
Analysis: It hasn't been officially announced who will be replacing him, however it is believed Brad Halsey will be recalled. He was scratched from his start for Triple-A Sacramento on Saturday and he did not make the start on Sunday. So the Athletics were likely keeping him as an option just in case Harden was not ready. It still sounds as if Harden will work in Fantasy Week 4 (April 23-29) from what Geren is saying, but he will lose his two-start status unfortunately.

If he does pitch later this week, this may be sorta good news....Baltimore's a hot offense, and more rest can only help what ails him...

Sigh, as a Harden owner, you kinda are just hoping for 25+ starts this year.

I read that a while ago. If they aren't putting him on the DL then he almost is assured to pitch this week. I however, will bench him just to be safe!! I'd almost prefer they DL him just to make sure he's ok. :-o

Yeah, I think it's a GOOD thing Harden isn't hitting the DL.. again! I was hoping for a nice start from him on tuesday but I guess now I have to do without him until later in the week. So his session went great? That's good news. Keep it updated guys.
