I'm trying to figure out when he is going to begin hitting....
any advice? I'm keeping him, but I am also spot starting him until I see some steady hitting.
He is WOEFULLY below the Mendoza line. Is this normal for him?
Dude, you can't sit young. Too tough to predict when he is going to start hitting. I have been watching him. He has hit a lot of rockets right at people. I don't think he is swinging that bad.
Yeah, you definently cant sit someone like Young. Eventually he is going to get that avg up to around 300. Itll balance out. But by spot starting him your are going to simply miss out. Its not like flicking a light switch. He isnt going to automatically one day start hittting. Itll be a gradual change.

I dont recall if he was always a slow starter...but the only thing he is "really lacking" is his average
I thnik he will pick it up soon and its just a matter of time..
It probobly isnt a good idea to sell low because he definately will turn around..
Spot starting him is a possibility right now though because he is however in a bad slump
I won't sell him low but I just sold him for C Zambrano which I am satisified with.
I think this is a very risky move as well and I certainly wouldn't have done it. Young is bound to turn it around, thats a guarantee. Zambrano and pitchers in general are harder to predict.
When Glaus got hurt I was able to trade Thome for Young. I still love the deal, but Thome is tearing the cover off of the ball. I have Soriano, Berkman, Sizemore, A. Jones, and Swisher to make up for the HR's I'm losing with trading Thome. What do you guys think? I thought I got a steal, even with Youngs struggles.
