Trade Problem

I just made a trade with a rookie team in my 15 team redraft roto $ league. I gave Berkman and Jennings for Ortiz. The trade went through but there are a few managers complaining about it and saying I took advantage of a rookie and that the trade should have been vetoed. I happen to disagree and I dont think it is anywhere close to vetoable. Our league counts CG so that ups Jennings value a little bit and the other team does need SP. I dont think there is a big differance between these 2 players and my projections are very similar for both. Yeah, I prob got the better deal, but that happens often in trades. What do you guys think about this? Thanks.

You traded a 40 homer guy (plus a mediocre pitcher on the dl) for another 40 homer guy.

I don't really get what's unfair about this deal.

Tell them that even Berkman for Ortiz straight up is an ok deal. Not one I'd do, but it's not even close to vetoable. It's roughly equal value, and vetoing is to prevent collusion or outright abuse within a league. Neither is happening here.

If they persist, explain to them about these "statistic" things they can look up and use them to gauge a players worth.

For Berkman and Ortiz, please advise what position(s) they qualify at. I mean, is Ortiz just a DH or is he 1b also? Is Berkman 1b, OF, or both? And how many DH spots you get?

Just wondering if some are arguing based on that..although as I said I don't see the big deal either way.

Are you in one of those leagues where people pay attention to the name of the player instead of the numbers? Ortiz is more popular than Berkman, even though they have similar stats. Plus you threw in a decent pitcher. Whatever. If you can't make this trade then wha trade can you make?
